Board Display Rack - 1, 2

The Wisconsin based artist Edward Wohl has been working with North American wood varieties for over 50 years, producing custom furniture, cutting boards and trays that speak to the specific characteristic of his materials. His architectural background and sculptural approach produce remarkable attention to detail. His peices have almost seamless joins and a lustrous finish, as well as a definitive utility within his creations. His iconic bird’s-eye maple cutting boards have the durability associated with this wood, while the curving lines and sloping edges play with the patterns in the hard maple surface. Only one in 500 hard maple trees exhibit this pattern, making each of the boards both rare and unique. Edward sadly passed away in 2023, but his son will be carrying on his traditions and maintain his practise with the same love and care.

Item details: These small display racks come in a set of two, with the capacity for 1, or 2 of Wohl's cutting boards. Having two seperate stands means these can be adjusted to fit any board width. The craftsmanship and beauty of Wohl's practise and materials deserves to be on display.

Care Instructions: To care for your board, hand wash with a mild detergent and warm water. Towel dry and initially store in a drying rack so that both sides can dry evenly. Do not store your board near a stove or other source of heat. Wiping occasionally with mineral oil renews the finish and protects the wood. Let the oil soak in for several hours or overnight and wipe off the excess. To avoid staining, do not leave non stainless metal objects on a wet board. A Scotch Brite pad or fine sandpaper will smooth any roughness that develops.
